The Quality Mark is an award that shows that a school demonstrates a long-term commitment to providing good teaching, learning and resources in literacy and numeracy, along with effective systems of planning, monitoring and evaluating pupil progress and provision. It is a means of supporting and endorsing school self-evaluation practices and shows a commitment to improving the basic skills opportunities for all groups of pupils.
Artsmark provides a benchmark for arts provision that encourages schools to consider the opportunities they offer in art, dance, drama and music. The application form for Artsmark acts as an auditing tool, through which schools may gain an overall picture of their arts education provision.
The Food for Life Partnership is a network of schools and communities across England committed to transforming food culture. We aim to reach out through schools to give communities access to seasonal, local and organic food, and to the skills they need to cook and grow fresh food. Bronze award schools serve fresh, seasonal school meals prepared by a well-trained school cook. Pupils and parents are involved in planning improvements to school menus and the dining experience via a school nutrition action group, boosting school meal take-up.
